My Story

I am taking part in Step a Million to raise funds for the Arthur Rank Hospice Charity, which supports people in Cambridgeshire living with an advanced serious illness or other life-limiting condition and those who need end-of-life care.

My Pops passed away peacefully at the Arthur Rank Hospice on 9th January 2021. Three years on, I start my 100-day One Million Step Challenge to show our gratitude for the support and care of the hospice team, which started way before those last few days of Pops' life. We are eternally grateful for their presence and kindness as his care became more complex during those last few months of 2020. Their work is not just about end of life care and cancer, it is so much more, and they need over £12 million a year to keep it all going. £7.3 million comes from NHS funding but the charity still has to raise £4.7 million themselves so its true when it's said that "every penny counts". For this reason, I've decided to chase my own target by putting aside £3 of my own money for each of the 100 days - only slightly more than a daily cup of coffee! Can you spare the equivalent of a few cups of coffee to help raise even more funds for this precious charity?! Thank you so much :)
