My Story

Please join me in supporting Arthur Rank Hospice in Cambridge, by donating to my marathon fundraising campaign.

As many of my family and friends will remember, in July 2022, I was involved in a serious motorcycle accident that nearly cost me my left leg. Thanks to the incredible skill of the plastic surgery team at Addenbrookes Hospital, my leg was saved, and they performed a skin graft to help with the healing process. However, my recovery didn’t end there. In late 2022, I was referred to Arthur Rank Hospice’s lymphoedema clinic due to ongoing swelling in my leg, which was limiting my mobility. At that point, I had no idea what lymphoedema treatment involved, but the team at Arthur Rank changed my life.

Their support was invaluable—teaching me self-massage techniques, offering advice on exercise, and providing specialist garments for my leg. The encouragement and guidance I received helped me regain my strength and confidence. At a time when I was worried I’d never run again, Arthur Rank gave me the boost I so desperately needed. Today, thanks to their help, I’m nearly fully recovered and back to doing the sports I love.

Now, I have the unique privilege of fundraising for the very place that helped me in my recovery and to support an incredible charity that offers free services for adults in Cambridgeshire with an advanced serious illness, life-limiting condition and for those who need end of life care.

In April 2025, I’ll be putting my leg to the test in the London Marathon - my first ever marathon. Please help me to raise funds for Arthur Rank Hospice, to give back to the team that supported me and to raise awareness of the vital work they do. It’s an honour to run for such an incredible cause, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to help ensure that others receive the same care and support I did during the most challenging times of their lives.

Thank you so much for your support!
