My Story
Arthur Rank Hospice Charity (ARHC) supports people in Cambridgeshire living with an advanced serious illness or other life-limiting condition and those who need end-of-life care. Its services are provided free of charge to patients and their families to help make every moment count.
Anyone who knows me, will be aware that I have worked at ARHC for 23 years- initially as a physiotherapist on the in-patient unit , and for the last 21 years in the Lymphoedema Clinic, where I am now the Team Lead. I wanted to take part in Step a Million as walking is so important for well-being both physical and mental health. I know it will be much harder to walk in the colder, darker months, and this is the motivation I need.
It would be great if this encourages some of my patients and friends to join me, but if a million steps is a bit much , any donation big or small would be so greatly appreciated. I see on a daily basis, the effect the charity has on our patients and their families, and I can't wait to do my little bit to support this great work- # making every moment count.
I thought I would update my story - half way and walked 240 miles / 567,321 steps in 50 days - so in credit by 67,331 steps so going well ! Also achieved my couch to 5k. Thanks again for all your support .
